
Lupe Morin
Summary of Background- Is the first to graduate from High School and the first to receive a college degree in her family of 13 children. She has two sons Mario and Marcos and her daughter in laws are Becky and Amanda. She has been married to Joe Morin for 38 years. Lupe retired from the City of Austin after 25 years of public service and continues to work and serve her community in a variety of capacities. She loves to garden, spend time with her friends, dance and her family is her most valuable asset.
Experience
2009-2011 – Executive Director, Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas – Manage a state wide nonprofit organization with Chapters in the State of Texas. Handle organization’s fund development, manage and organize statewide training conference and serves as the offices’ single point of contact for corporate sponsors.
2001-2005 – Deputy Director, City of Austin Neighborhood Housing and Community Development -Served on the City Manager’s Executive Team and managed administrative and financial affairs/funding from the City of Austin and U.S. Department of Housing.
1991-2000 – Assistant Director of Administrative Services, City of Austin Health and Human Services – Served on the City Manager’s Executive Team and managed the administrative divisions which included Strategic Planning, Finances, Human Resources, Facility Management and Information Systems.
1984-1991 – Human Resources Manager, Austin Police Department – Managed the personnel matters for the Civilian and Civil
Service employees. Handled community outreach programs, employee recruitment and retention programs, coordinated with Internal Affairs on employee matters and handled the recognition programs for all employees.
