Cindy Ramos-Davidson
is the dynamic Chief Executive Officer of the El Paso Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce. Under the leadership of Ramos-Davidson, the El
Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce provides guidance, resources, and
the tools needed for the success of the Borderland Businesses.

In 1998, Ramos-Davidson
took charge of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce taking it from a
tranquil organization to the powerhouse of today.
As a first generation
Hispana, Ramos Davidson was instilled love for the culture of her ancestors
and values of the American dream. Growing up, Ramos-Davidson learned that
with perseverance and passion, anything is possible. During her lifetime,
Ramos-Davidson has broken many barriers. In 1977, she was the first female
in her family to obtain a university degree from the University of Texas.
During her career, Ramos-Davidson has been an inspiration to many young
Hispanas by opening doors and creating new opportunities. With her over 30
years of chamber experience and professional life, Ramos-Davison is a living
testimony that with a clear vision and passion, even glass ceilings can be
broken.
During her ten year tenure
and under the leadership and vision of Ramos-Davison, the El Paso Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce has increased its membership to 1,067, the organization
obtained its own location on I-10 and it continues to develop new services
and resources so that local businesses can continue to grow, provide more
jobs to our community and in it of itself create an impulse for the
betterment of El Paso. Currently, the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
has trained and counseled over 20,000 entrepreneurs, assisted local
businesses obtain $9,790,660 in financial projects, help the start up of
over 900 businesses, aided in the expansion of 909 businesses, help
establish 525 home base businesses, assisted in the creation and retention
of 5,675 jobs and contributed to an estimated economic impact to the
community of $255,941,830.
This is all done from the
perspective that there is a moral obligation we each have to help each
other. As a female minority, small business expert & avid advocate of small
minority and women owned businesses, Ramos-Davidson has focused her efforts
on assuring access to capital, technological sophistication, diversification
of people, products, & services for long term business sustainability and
survival.
While so much has been
accomplished in her tenure as CEO of the Hispanic Chamber, Ramos-Davidsons’
background includes a career in chamber work that reaches back to 1980. Her
creativity and ability to “think outside the box” has been demonstrated time
and time again.
There are no brick walls
with Cindy around. She finds ways to bring resources to businesses that
might not otherwise have a level playing field.
Cindy is a graduate of Bel-Air
High School and has a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso. She
is currently in the process of pursing her CCE (Chamber Certified Executive)
designation from ACCE (American Chamber of Commerce Executives
Association). When complete she will be the first Hispanic female to be
chamber executive certified.
Ramos-Davidson states that
behind her success as the CEO of the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is
the impulse and support of her loving family. Ramos-Davidson is married to
Robert Davison and is the proud mother of Serena Davidson.
