Here we are in August and we are still living with COVID-19 and experiencing unprecedented times during an ongoing pandemic. What questions do you have? How can we best move forward?
We at TAMACC want to continue to provide up-to-date, important information and we cannot think of a better person to help answer these questions than Anthony Fauci, M.D. Yes, THE Dr. Fauci — one of the world’s leading experts on infectious diseases and described as “one of the most trusted medical figures in the United States.”
Mark your calendars now for Wednesday, September 24, noon – 1:30 p.m., when we will host Dr. Fauci to talk candidly with us about COVID-19, some distressing statistics and what we might expect in the near future.
Speaking of distressing statistics, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Hispanics have a 2.8x higher rate of cases; a 4.6x higher rate of hospitalizations; and a 1.1x higher rate of deaths from COVID-19 when compared with White Americans. African Americans also experience higher rates of COVID-19 across the board when compared with White Americans: 2.6x higher rate in cases; 4.7x higher rate of hospitalizations and 2.1x higher rate of deaths. (*data is from August 10, 2020)
Fauci’s impeccable reputation precedes him, but for those of you who might like a bit more background, Dr. Fauci serves as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the U.S. National Institutes of Health and has been an advisor to every U.S. President since Ronald Reagan.
We will be recording the Webinar and will have it subtitled in Spanish for both the TAMACC website and social media platforms.
Look for additional details soon.
