TAMACC to Host April Hernandez Castillo Actor, Speaker, and Author

Best known for her riveting performance as “Eva” in the hit movie, Freedom Writers, starring Hilary Swank, April Hernandez Castillo will be hosted by TAMACC for a Central Texas tour of speaking engagements and book signings.

April will start her Texas visit with a private reception at the TAMACC offices in Buda, Texas.

On October 11, April will be at the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, where she will be a featured speaker in the Studies in Entrepreneurship Speaker Series. Her campus visit includes a reception, a speaking engagement, and a book signing of her memoir, Embracing Me.

This event is presented by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Texas State University and is co-sponsored by the Center for Diversity and Gender Studies at Texas State University.

The rest of April’s Texas visit schedule has not been confirmed yet. Tentative plans include Baylor University in Waco, eating barbeque in Lockhart, and boot shopping in Austin.

April’s tour of Central Texas would not have been possible if not for the support of TAMACC chamber members, local Hispanic businesses, and partners.
