Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to Launch Series of Events for Community Enhancement

Fresh into the new year, the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (CTHCC) ventured on a strategic planning session to discuss new objectives for the organization. New President and CEO of the CTHCC, Alfred Solano, established a point of redirection for the Board of Directors and staff on the weekend of Jan. 25.

Chamber Gets $100,000 Boost from Foundation

Still adjusting to the death of longtime leader Joe Rodriguez and striving to better serve Waco’s Latino population, the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has secured a $100,000 grant from the Rapoport Foundation to host more events, tweak staffing and play a larger role in job training.

Texas Businesses and Member Chambers Honored By TAMACC During 43rd Annual Hispanic Business Convention of Texas

BUDA, TX – The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) will recognize Texas businesses, individuals and organizations during the TAMACC 43rd Annual Hispanic Business Convention of Texas in San Marcos, Texas.

The TAMACC Annual Convention is September 6 through 8, 2018 at the Embassy Suites San Marcos Hotel. It is one of the largest statewide Hispanic business gatherings in Texas. Each year, TAMACC Members nominate individuals from their community for these prestigious awards.

Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) Urges Congress to do What is Best for the Country Protect Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

AUSTIN, TX – Yesterday U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that President Trump had rescinded the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program instated by former President Barack Obama. In doing so, Sessions stated that they would delay the rescission by six months to give Congress time to enact legislation to protect these young DREAMers from deportation.

TAMACC Opposes 20% Tax Proposal on Mexican Imports

Austin, Texas – The Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Chambers (TAMACC) strongly opposes President Trump’s proposal for a 20% Tax on imports from Mexico to raise money for a border wall.

Mexico is Texas’ number one trading partner and the third largest trading partner with the United States. Per the United States Census Bureau, 33% of United States imports from Mexico flow through Texas, and 37% of United States exports to Mexico come from Texas.
